Richard Dreyfuss wife arrested for San Diego county DUI in Encinitas

DUIs happen to all persons.  Alcohol is not the drink of one economic class or a specific ethnicity.  It is not shocking to see San Diego DUI arrests of people of wealth.  The difference is the defense they can mount.  In most cases there is mistakes somewhere in almost very San Diego DUI investigation. A good San Diego DUI defense attorney can find and use those weakness in getting a favorable resolution for their client.  The San Diego public defenders is a noble crew.  However, they are burdened with a large caseload and younger attorneys.  The mistakes are often hidden and in the details.   It will be interesting to see how this case turns out.

Pacific Beach Residents ask San Diego City Council committee to reduce alcohol-related crime DUI

Pacific Beach is a draw for tourist, locals, and fun seekers from all over the area.  If you move to Pacific Beach there is some expectations.  Happening local nightlife.  Some good restaurants.  One should also expect San Diego DUI checkpoints, San Diego saturation patrols, and the fights that naturally happen when alcohol is consumed.  I can see some reasonable regulations but lets be realistic.  On that note....Happy Friday!

New camera aims to deter crime in Ocean Beach aid San Diego Police DUI

Video is such a great tool for the field of law. It is a memorialization of what happened. It helps both law enforcement and those accused. One key point I wonder is how long will the video be stored and not purged. For instance, someone accused of a San Diego DUI may be able to show they were in fact not the driver of a vehicle. The video would show who exited the drivers side. However, the police would not be wanting the video. It would be defense counsel. A person has to be arrested, get out of jail, find and retain and attorney. The attorney would have to gather facts before they would even have a chance to subpoena the video.

San Diego police: We're Not Interested in Drones - Yet

Technology is going to change law enforcement in the upcoming years.  There could be many uses for drones.  I hope the police get a version of the google glasses.  Seeing what happened could really aid a jury or other fact finder as to what occurred.  All of this sounds good....unless those drones start stopping me for going 3 mph over the speed limit on I-5.   Have a great Thursday.
