San Diego DA won’t file charges against SDPD officer accused of domestic violence

For now, no charges were filed against the officer.

This case is illustrative of the difficulty of Domestic Violence cases.  In most cases, you will be dealing with a recanting victim.  It is part of a cycle of violence.  The relationship is usually in some frayed point where allegations of “getting back” at the other person led the “victim” to make false accusations has merit.

On the other hand, the officer has already lost so much by just being accused.  He was arrested…twice.  He spent thousands of dollars on bail.  He was suspended from his job.  His reputation may have been tarnished.

With all the media exposure do we really know the truth?  Just a thought as we hit hump day.
