Federal DUI Defense Attorney in San Diego County. Former Prosecutor explains what a federal driving under the influence is about.

San Diego is home to a healthy amount of Federal property.  Most of the federal property are military bases.  The main bases in San Diego County include Camp Pendleton, Fallbrook Weapons Center, MCAS Miramar, MCRD (Recruit Depot), 32nd Street Naval Base and Naval Base Coronado (including NAS Coronado). If someone is facing a DUI charge on these premises, their cases will be handled in Federal court.  Federal cases in all San Diego County are heard in downtown San Diego.  In most cases, our firm is able to head to court on your behalf without you needing to go.  Be proactive, and contact the Law Offices of Mark Deniz at (858) 751-4384.

Military Base Federal DUIs

Before this year, military personnel with military base DUI cases had their cases handled by the command usually as NJP (nonjudicial punishment) with restriction, loss of pay, loss of rank, and only civilian violators were prosecuted in Federal Court.  Now both military and civilian personnel are prosecuted in Federal Court, with military personnel also still receiving NJP in many cases.  If someone received NJP for the offense, this is an important factor to be considered in these cases and how they are resolved.

Both Military and Civilian defendants, when arrested, receive a Federal Citation with the charges without a court date.  Those citations are processed and the defendant is notified usually within 90 days of a Federal Court date via mail. As a former Prosecutor, we can help you obtain the best possible outcome in your case.  You want to use whatever mitigating facts to get the charges dismissed, charges reduced, or punishment lowered.  Get the ball rolling and contact the Law Offices of Mark Deniz at (858) 751-4384.
